Judge Deborah Lippis was elected to  the Justice Court Bench in 1992. A graduate of McGeorge School of Law, Judge  Lippis clerked for both Federal and State judges, after which she served nearly 10 years as a prosecuting attorney and public defender. Judge Lippis has also  served as an instructor at College of So. NV where she taught in the area of  criminal law.
 
Judge Lippis is an active  community volunteer, having served on numerous advisory boards, including Family & Child  Treatment, Families of Murder Victims, LVMPD Gang and Domestic Violence Task Forces, Monte Vista Hospital's Chrysalis Program, and on the  National  Advisory Board of Tears of the Children, as well as the Senior Citizens   Law Project.
 
Judge Lippis was  recognized by the Chamber of  Commerce as a Woman of Achievement in the legal  field, and was named Law  Enforcement Official of the Year by the Las Vegas  Metropolitan Police  Department. Judge Lippis was a founding member of the  S.A.I.N.T. Program;  and in 1993 received an award from the Clark County District  Attorney for  her professional services to victims of crime, the first time this  award  was ever given to a judge. Judge Lippis has also received U.S. Senatorial   and Congressional recognition for her "outstanding and invaluable service"  to our community.
