Civil Division
The Civil Division of Las Vegas Justice Court Township is by far the busiest division of the court. The Civil Division is divided into four (4) areas; Small Claims, Civil Actions, Evictions and Protection Orders. Small Claims actions have a monetary limit of $10,000.00. Civil actions have a monetary limit of $15,000.00. Evictions deal with landlord-tenant disputes. EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2017 – NRS 4.060 increases the civil action jurisdiction from $10,000 to $15,000. The filing fee will be $274 for civil actions filed between $10,000.01 and $15,000.00.

Civil Law Self Help Center
For assistance, the Civil Law Self Help Center provides legal information, forms, educational materials, and training to self-represented litigants regarding court rules, court procedure, and various civil legal topics. They are located on the 1st floor of the Regional Justice Center, in downtown Las Vegas at 200 Lewis Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89101. The Civil Law Self Help Center’s business hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30an-5:30pm and Fridays 8:00am-4:00pm, excluding Holidays.
Electronic Filing (E-Filing) is Mandatory
Electronic filing is mandatory for all civil case filings. Court users may E-File from any location with an Internet connection for a fee, or may E-File at the Las Vegas Justice Court without an E-Filing fee.
