Judge Sullivan started her legal career at the litigation firm of Jones Vargas, becoming a partner in 2001.  In 2004 she opened the law firm of Ghanem & Sullivan.  During her 17 years of civil practice, Judge Sullivan focused in the areas of business and real estate law and commercial landlord/tenant litigation, presided as a private arbitrator, was the Chair of the Clark County Bar Association’s Community Services Committee, and provided bono civil representation for litigants who could not afford a lawyer.

In November 2008 Judge Sullivan was elected to the Justice Court bench in Department 12 of the Las Vegas Township, and was re-elected in 2014 and 2020.  During her time on the bench she has handled both criminal, civil and eviction dockets.  She was the Presiding Criminal Judge and the Chair of the Local Rules Committee for a number of years, and is a member of the Clark County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.  Judge Sullivan regularly speaks to and teaches at various panels and classes relative to matters within the Justice Court jurisdiction and judges mock trial competitions.  She mentored for the Clark County School District for many years in the “Reclaim Your Future Program,” and partnered with the Boyd Law School Legal Clinic for several semesters.

In 2017 she was chosen by her statewide colleagues as the Nevada Judges of Limited Jurisdiction Association’s “Outstanding Judge of the Year.”  She was the President of NJLJ in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 crisis.  Judge Sullivan has been published in the Clark County Bar Association’s and National Judicial College’s publications, as well as university textbooks for Criminal Justice.

In her free time Judge Sullivan enjoys traveling and watching all types of professional sports.
